The Robotics and Artificial VisionLab: RoboLab (University of Extremadura) was founded in 1995 with a vocation for basic and applied research and with a permanent objective of transferring the results to the productive and service system of our society. In these more than twenty years of experience, robotics has become one of the pillars of the group's research, becoming leaders in this area in the Extremadura region and a reference group at the national level. Since 2010, the RoboLab group has been actively working in developing technologies applied to different sectors of society, from agriculture and livestock, in the primary industry, industry in the secondary sector, to the service sector itself. All this through its participation in different European, national and regional calls or direct collaboration with companies in these sectors.

Summary:
The main objective of the ExtendAGE project is to evaluate in the long term the acceptance and usefulness of the social assistance robot integrated into the daily life of a nursing home. The robot must move around the residence and perform specific tasks, such as proposing activities that promote active aging and socio-emotionally stimulate the user and assist health personnel in monitoring and evolving the elderly. Therefore, the evaluation presented in this project is carried out in a long-term experiment. For six months, the prototype of the social care robot will be working in a nursing home for the elderly in Extremadura.
